What is Sound Healing?: We are Water & We are Waves

We are water.

We are waves.

Everything is energy- vibrating at all times on a microscopic level.


Like all of earths living organisms, even we human animals break all the way down into vibrating particles and atoms.

As we experience an array of emotions- from elation and euphoria to depression and grief and all life’s in betweens…

…all of our experiences leave a tangible, vibrating imprint within our holistic essence- our mind, body, soul and energy. Sometimes we find these imprints to remind us of life’s joy… while other times they can trigger trauma.


Either way, when witnessing these imprints, we can see that it’s not only our minds that hold memory, but also our bodies- our water -our energy and all parts of our essence, including those parts of ourselves we tend to forget exist.

Have you ever seen clean water under a microscope? Her particles- our own beautiful crystalline molecules -look like snowflakes… arranged in symmetrical formations. Yet when under stress, these naturally majestic patterns morph into something unrecognizable. As showcased in the findings of Japanese author and researcher Dr. Masaru Emoto, water has the ability to mirror the manifestation of the energy and emotions it is introduced to. Therefore when we consider that the human body is made up on average of about 60% water, Dr. Emoto’s findings can help us to also understand on a microscopic level, what our holistic essence can be experiencing when faced with different challenges.

Sound healing in its various methods, is an ancient medicine that by way of intentionally organizing sound waves, has the ability to flow through our system and reorganize our body’s water, reminding our cells that they- that we -have a beautifully geometric origin, while also entraining our ears, psyche and the rest of our essence, to follow that flow back into a space of safety, softness… peace and release.

Having been found to lower blood pressure, improve sleep, enhance clarity, reduce anxiety, and ease physical pain, sound healing is a restorative medicine that doesn’t have to take a great deal of effort to receive. We can simply go out into nature and sit near the ocean, allowing her waves to wash away the world, or wander deep into the forest - and just be… within true silence, free of airplanes, traffic, layered voices and the sounds of the city. Or we can visit a sound bath with a facilitator we trust, and rest in the presence of loving intention, guided meditation and medicinal music.


Rest… and restoration are our birthright.


Like many other meditative medicines, sound healing can help our mind, body and soul… our water and our breath… relax, recover and find its way home… to safe shores.
